Patti Page

Posted by purplemary54 on January 2, 2013

She was often introduced as “that singing rage, Miss Patti Page.”  Patti Page was a beautiful woman and a beautiful singer.  Her 1950 hit, “Tennessee Waltz” was one of the loveliest songs about heartbreak ever.  She conveyed all the sadness of the tune with grace and gentility.  I don’t wish to return to the 1950s, but I kind of wish there were more voices like hers today.

I agree with you… I would love to hear singers with real voices again. I have Patsy Cline’s Greatest Hits and listen to her on occasion. I wouldn’t mind going back to the 50s to stock up on cardigans.
